We Have A "Cuuk Buuk"
This is our Middlebury VT Rhubarb Review.
Our Second Annual Rhubarb Festival was blessed with sunny, warm weather and a great turnout of local folks.
Held at our UU church in Middlebury, VT we expanded the activities to include:
Tea-room and rhubarb goodies sale
Huge used books sale
Crafts sale with items made by our members
including some beautiful metalwork
Used jewelry--bling!--sale
"Treasures in Transition" sale area
Children's activities area, including face painting
Plants sale with items donated by members
The first opportunity to buy our newly published "Cuuk Buuk" with its lengthy rhubarb recipes section
Luncheon of turkey cutlets or tofu with rhubarb sauce, salads, beverages, and rhubarb desserts
And, our "Kiss the Kid" Contest.
The latter included six contestants, each trying to collect the most monetary donations so that she or he might kiss the--you guessed it--baby goat at the conclusion of the event.
The winner was our Minister, who seemed to enjoy that cute little kid so much that the other five contestants decided to line up and smooch him, too!
We were so pleased with the event that we're looking forward to expanding again next year at the Third Annual "RhUUbarb" Festival.
