Pot shining tips makes a green pesticide too with your rhubarb leaves.
Take the rhubarb leaves and place them in a big pot. Add three quarts of water and let them boil for a half hour to 45 minutes. This will shine any pot.
Sprinkle this water on your potato plants to kill potato bugs or any other insect that is eating your flowers or other plants. There will be no harmful effects.
Jane's Reply - Thank you Cyrille. This is yet another great use for rhubarb leaves to brighten up dull kitchen pots, as certain pots are sensitive to the acidity of the rhubarb.
The resulting environmentally friendly pesticide is a bonus too for keeping other garden plants insect free. This isn't just good for potatos, but great for keeping bugs off the rose bushes as well.
